The 91 km² Chapalota Gold Project lies along the western edge of the Sierra Madre Occidental Volcanic Province. Riverside has entered into an agreement whereby Arcus Development Group Inc. can acquire a 51% interest in the Chapalota property by making staged payments and completing work commitments.
The project is hosted by Laramide intermediate intrusions that cut Lower Volcanic Series Andesites which are host to numerous gold and silver deposits. The area has more than 10 small mines and has been known as a gold rich area for centuries with small production coming from high grade veins but little attention given to the bulk tonnage gold potential. Shear zones with quartz-sericite alteration and deformed quartz veining is similar to the Herradura Gold Mine of Penoles-Newmont which has resources exceeding 4 M Oz and the Mesquite Mine which also lies along strike and produced multi-million ounce gold from open pits during the 1990's. The main Chapalota auriferous structural zone is a 50-60m wide shear zone containing quartz veins and sulfide dissemination similar to the deposits mentioned above and mineralization found at the Magistral Mine which lies little more than 100km to the north of Chapalota. There are numerous tahonas (artesanal gold recovery areas) present on the property where 'gambusinos" worked lode and placer gold.
